Renaming a Domain Contoller
When I set up my first domain controller, I forgot to rename it from the default Windows-provided name. I want it to match my naming scheme. All I had to do was rename it in the My Computer tab, just like renaming a workstation. After a reboot, both AD and DNS settings updated themselves!

Aaron's Server Infrastructure
My plan was to purchase a single server from Dell and install ESXi 4.0 on it to run virtual machines. My laptop is a MacBook with 10.4 on it, so I've installed Virtual Box 3.0.14 on it to create a Windows virtual machine to host the VMWare Client.
The physical server:
------------------------
Once the server arrived, plugging in the cables and installing ESXi was very simple. I used our flat-screen TV as a temporary monitor and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo from Best Buy.
The earlier version of Virtual Box installed with no problems and I now have a vmware client in my virtual windows machine. I did try to install the vmware client directly on the mac using wine, but that failed when the install started looking for Windows service packs.
Next steps: create some virtual Windows servers on the ESXi box.
The physical server:
------------------------
- Dell PowerEdge T110
- 8GB of Memory (4x2GB), 1333MHz, Dual Ranked UDIMM
- 250GB of Hard Disk
- Intel® Xeon® X3430 Processor, 2.4 GHz, 8M Cache, Turbo
- Total Cost: $692.84
